How could someone do this...?

We lost our British Shorthair cat Jo-Jo for a couple of days but we eventually found him in a neighbours garden unwilling to move yesterday morning. He was in a lot of pain so we took him to the vets for a check over.
Early diagnosis suggests that he had serious trauma by possibly being yanked very hard by his tail causing hip displacement and nerve damage. I have an idea who/how this might have happened. The nerve damage looks like has affected his ability to wee and poo. This could mean that we will have to put him down today or tomorrow if there is still no sign of voluntary bowel movements.
Absolutely gutted for poor mite. He is only 15 months old and already went through but survived FIP treatment late summer last year.
As a family we are devastated as this is the 2nd cat we've had that we've had to put to sleep.

Sorry to hear the sad news, what a beautiful creature. I feel for you and your family. Some people don’t deserve to live in a civilised society.
A few years ago we to put down two of our cats in fairly quick succession. We found them convulsing and unable to move. The vet thought it was antifreeze poisoning, not sure if it was deliberate or accidental but it has not reoccurred.

On the subject of sub human low life, they usually start to display their ways at a young age.
I recall i (aged 5 at the time) and my young friends being dismayed that one of the older village brats plucked chicks out of a songbirds nest and threw them against a wall to kill them, you have to wonder what would become of one displaying such cruelty at such a young age, nothing good.
Some are just born evil.
I fought that brat many times whenever he picked on me and usually came off worse as he was much older, a bully thug in his apprenticeship, by the time i was 6 we'd moved area for my fathers work.
Not living too far from said village now, hmm now there's a thought.

I hope he recovers and whoever did it suffers a cruel fate.
Our cat used to be quite friendly until one day it came limping home with a badly damaged hip which was fractured. Since then he won’t approach any strangers and is off like a shot if anyone visits who he isn’t familiar with.
I suspect he was kicked or hit when injured and now doesn’t trust people. Something I’m kind of pleased with as there’s too many aholes about.

If it were a fox or something there would be other injuries such as bite marks at a guess.Very sad for you.
So sorry to see this OP, I know the pain and worry all too well, our cat used up one of her nine when she was shot with an air rifle/pistol. She fortunately survived but it was a tense few days and the pellet is still in there just a few mil from her heart! Some people are just
