The trail cam picked up a pic of this last night. My wife is worried its a Basil. What do people think? The camera was set up to monitor a hole about 2inches in diameter with fresh earth around it. I have no other pics so I don't think this came out of the hole.

That is a Jerry. However it probably didn’t make a 2 inch diameter hole!

Exactly my thought.

I will have to monitor the hole for longer. On wednesday night it picked up a hedgehog, which obviously doesn't live in the hole.

That is a mouse. That being said, a rat can squeeze through an incredibly small space too....

I got the Jerry Mouse bit but reckoned a Basil was Basil Brush = fox (the mouse being incidental)

Maybe it's a German and a fox. Desert Fox. Yes, Rommel did it.

Basil isn’t rhyming slang. Manuel named his pet rat after Basil Fawlty. (He thought the rat was a hamster)

Or cats. Or bats.

This could be why rhyming slang isn't generally used in taxonomy.

'Trailer of hay' - DNA?

The sign outs Fawlty Towers is often miss spelled. Flowery tts is one of them.
