I have two females. One a pedigree Springer and the other a Collie/Springer cross.

Obviously, living in the countryside, they get into all sorts of a mess - mud, brambles, fox st...

They also love the beach, sand, salt water...

So they've totally destroyed their leather collars in no time.

Can anyone recommend decent collars that won't break the bank and won't fall apart in a month? I'm thinking something nylon perhaps?

They only wear their collars when they go out, not 24/7.

Thanks all.

The great and small country ones from pets corner are what we use. Seem to last quite well.

not a collar as Gaston cant get on with them but hes almost 7 and has 2 red dingo harnesses both are now about 5 years old, no fraying or anything. I reckon they will outlive him.

We use Zeedog collars. Adjustable in terms of sizes, plastic clasp and if dirty they get thrown in the wash. Loads of colours and designs, and good value.

We use harnesses when walking so collars are more about adding some colour.

We've got a Julius K9 collar with handle for our Doberman, three years in and we are happy with it.

It gets covered in mud and sand, we just soak it in the sink and give it a scrub and it comes out clean again.

The handle is also great as it makes it easier to grab the dog if needed, it velcros down so doesn't catch on anything.

Ideal, thanks for all the suggestions.

Think we'll go with the Pets Corner ones.

Bully billows make a range of rubber ones.

Duncan’s has lasted over a year so far and you can wash them in the sink after a wash.
