I was gioven a box of pigs ears for my dog, he loved them, I now recall buying them for my last dog many years ago, they used to be really cheap, now# they are so expensive, why, surely they are a waist product. Also bones, went into is it Pets R Use (big chain anyway) and a bone was £6!!!

Cheaper to buy pork chops!

Are they going to China? They love them out there.

Very much so and supply seems an issue. I was buying "moon bones" off Amazon which were really touch cartlidge and the dogs took half an hour to chew them. Then supply ran out and the alternative moon bones go in 5 minutes.

Pet stuff does seem to be going up rapidly. A box of black pudding chews that used to be £20 is now £38. A 1kg bag of raw food was just over £4 is now £8+. I'm pretty sure our food isn't going up quite so quickly.

You've got me wondering. The last pigs we had slaughtered we got the innards (obvs as well as the sausages, joints, bacon, etc) ... but no ears or trotters. Maybe they are the slaughterman's bonus.

They're about £1 each where I buy mine, I think. There's a much bigger choice of dried and chewy animal bits nowadays. You could build an almost complete hybrid Trigger's Broom animal using the various bones, hooves, ears, snouts etc on the shelf at my local pet shop.

Get the Reindeer horns from Amazon. They are massive and last ages.
