Food fit for dogs

Q For vetty folks et all. My dog ( x JRT/cairn) has a passion for fish. My love is marinated herring in tin, with sauce. I'd love to give hr some, but what sauce is safe to give her?
Every time I have some ,she's plaguing me to treat her. I'd love to treat her, but there's the risk of something not right for dogs.

I have fed my dogs tinned sardines/pilchards/mackerel in tomato sauce for years with no ill effects, aswell as lots of raw sardines in with their food as they have all loved fish. Only give it once or twice a week, usually a small size tin for the terriers or a larger baked bean size tin for the bigger dogs.

Our labrador loves a bit of fish.

Only this lunchtime he finished up a couple of slices of smoked salmon that were a bit marginal
