Hi all

My 20 year old aquarium and hood uses T8 Fluorescent tube(s)

These are housed in little circlips mounted to the top of the over tank wooden hood.

Probably could change to LED light.

Anyone bought any LED lights for aquarium recently and had change from £100?

My tank is 4'L x 12"W x 15"D . Was thinking a 3' long LED would probably do, theres no plants in it.

Fluval Aquasky seem good, they fit into the existing clips and can be timed to come on slowly at "dawn" and go off slowly etc All run off an app on your phone. Overkill maybe. But they cost upward of £100.

Cheers all

I suspect some gen 2 Radions would be £100 or so?!?! If that these days.. Good lights too.... But perhaps too much marine for your needs.

Poor fishies - I wonder if they'll cope with LED lights. The smaller the animal, the faster its visual system works. I'm a rather large animal and I can perceive the flashing of cheaper LED lighting. Drives me utterly bananas. I wonder whether fish see LED lights as strobes...
