Healthy Pets Clubs, worth it?
Discussion
Whilst I have never (and would never) bothered with one of these schemes, I would caution against writing off the need for vaccinations.
It's easy to say 'other people have their pets vaccinated' but what if everyone takes that view? There is a need for herd immunity to prevent the spread of disease. I don't know about cats, but things like parvo are not minor illnesses in dogs - they kill, especially the young and elderly.
I've owned a lot of dogs, and only one has not been vaccinated on a yearly basis. That was on veterinary advice, due to a long-term medical condition.
So by all means dump the monthly payment scheme, but please continue to vaccinate your pets. I am amazed a vet would recommend otherwise.
