Lost Souls Dog Rescue & Monmouthshire Council killings

As a animal lover I'm actually sickened to hear the news that appears to be making it's way out regarding the Lost Souls Dog rescue centre in Monmouthshire. It appears that Monmouthshire Council didn't like this particularly establishment and managed to get a court order to enter the property and destroyed several dogs on site and removed many others without any real explanation apart from some expert who works for the council saying the dogs were "thin".
Since when did it become acceptable to euthanise animals on site because they were allegedly underweight? Apparently these dogs were mostly rescued by the charity from countries like Romania, and as far as I can see from all the sources I have found the dogs appeared to be well cared for and the person who runs the rescue appears to be well liked and respected.
This isn't anything I have any direct involvement in, but I'm amazed that a council can get away with doing this in the way in which it was allegedly done, and now they are being silent on all request for further information on the subject.

Ive not posted on forums for years. Shocked and in total disbelief to learn of the horrors what happened 15th August at Lost Souls Sanctuary. I'm a qualified nurse and if people are confronted, confused, scared they can act aggressively. To murder the dogs dragged out on poles screaming in distressed terror, and in front of the others dogs is unforgivable and despicable. They were assessed by 1 person if they lived or died. I can say from experience of adopting the Caucasian Shepherd breed from rescue 5 years ago, that the qualified behaviorists I paid and sought support from in managing my pet had no full understanding of this breed. Thats how I heard about Lost Souls, the rescue put me in contact with Anne at the Sanctury and she spent the time it took to give me free advise on caring for this misunderstood breed of dog. She also offered a back up support plan to me, her love and understanding of the dogs was very apparent and how to holistically meet their needs. I was aspired to want to set up my own such sanctuary when I retire. They are one of the most loyal and loving dog breeds I've met. I dont have visitors to my household, because it would upset my rescue dogs, an unknown person on their safe territory, when people have not always been kind to them in the past. Most dog aggression is fear based, so these persons of authority think they can justify causing distress and murder by storming in causing fear? I'm beyond sickened to learn this could ever be executed. We are seeing too much of this lately, and councils able to use funds to cause all kinds of damage. Totally different scale, but Plymouth Council cut down trees against wishes then were voted out due to the controversy, Cameron called Brexit then resigned. Lost Souls was never any welfare concern, that was used as a cover, because the council and or some individuals wanted the Sanctuary gone. Its on prime development land. Just hearing about what was done is personally haunting me. I can not begin to imagine such pain and distress for the dogs, people that loved them, and the Sanctuary founder, who whole-heartily, undoubtedly, devoted herself to these dogs well-being. The damage done can never be rectified, but needs to be prevented from ever happening again, and we need the dogs taken returned asap, to their safe place and people that they love and love them. People wont forget the amount of distress and suffering inflicted on the dogs and people of the Sanctuary, and bystanders to all this. Very disturbing that this could ever be instigated and taken so far. I'm trying to get hold of Neil (AKA stickers) on PH to do some "Justice" vehicle stickers and came acoss it mentioned already on here.
