Dry dog food WTF
Discussion
Our dog has always eat raw food. The breeder was a fan of raw and we just carried on. In the U.K. and NZ it was easy to buy preprepared, frozen food. Just moved to dog to Denmark and haven’t been able to find any so far so switched him to dry food. On raw his poo was quite small. Certainly smaller than what went it. Seems the opposite with the dry food. More coming out the back than went in the front!! Is that normal?
(Obviously I’m talking volume of the dry food and not taking into account all the water he is now drinking)
One other key difference is that on raw he always spent ages licking his bowl after eating. Now he doesn’t bother.

Yep it’s correct. A lot of dry food can be made up with cereals which dogs won’t absorb so comes out the other end. Make sure what dry food you’re using is good quality. You could try cold compress foods which tend to be better.

I know this is a UK site but explains more about which brands are good / bad.

Dry dog food is a wide range. As the other poster says a lot are rubbish. Also what works for one might not work for another.
We use tribal, as the other poster says it is a cold press so easier to digest. You might have to try a few before you get the one that is right for your dog. Remember when changing food it’s best to slowly introduce the new food over a week or so.

Ours have the dry grain free stuff from Wolf Of Wilderness so there's less grain filler than other brands. Our older dog can't handle the grain anyway so the younger one has it. They're both in great shape with what I'd consider "normal" poos for their size.

Have you looked for online deliveries? Lots of companys deliver raw food frozen in the UK so would seem strange not to have companies that offer the same. (Obviously I’m talking volume of the dry food and not taking into account all the water he is now drinking)

My dog was on raw but due to allergies had to swap to dry food...

This (Purina HA) results in the same quantity and (lack) of smell as she had when she was on raw food. I have used "normal" kibble before and as per the OP the results were like some kind of magic when more came out than went in and it also has a way worse smell.

Might be worth checking out this company, grain free dry dog food. International base as well so might be easier to get hold of.

We feed a combination of this, raw and a bit of purina pro plan, depending on how fussy ours are being at the time
