Why is nesting bird so noisy?
I'd have thought they would lie low?

Pretty sure the male feeds the female during incubation... So yes feed me.

I nearly ran over an osprey once driving back ftom dounreay in Scotland. They're fking massive. It was eating road kill and it's wing span was the same size as a single track road. There isn't much that can fly that's going to mess with one, noisey or not. So I guess chuntering away makes little difference.

Chick has wriggled out from under the parent, and having a snooze.

I'm not an expert - but that's my understanding.

Manton Bay young. Eggs laid beginning of April. Parents Maya and 33 have been back together for at least 10 years.

I think it may be down in Dorset as they are trying to reintroduce them in Poole and isn’t that where Springwatch is being broadcast from?
There are quite a number of breeding locations over the UK.Google Osprey webcams for locations.

I was Osprey-watching at Esthwaite Water on Saturday morning/afternoon. Absolutely brilliant but the camera is down - they think some squirrels have chewed through the cable or a battery needs replacing. Also some idiots were illegally lighting nighttime fires near the shore not far from the nest so had to be chased off.
