Wasn’t sure where to put this, here, SP&L or all creatures - mods please move if necessary.

Travelling on the A346 from Swindon to Marlborough there are some large wide open fields - on the left side if you know it.
I saw a dog first (large lurcher type), then a person, then a hare. The dog caught my eye first as it was jumping on the lead and I’ve never seen anything on those fields other than tractors before.
The hare ran, the dog was let go. I don’t know the outcome, and I’m not sure I want to.
Looking over my shoulder and with my OH also incredulous there was one other person standing on the edge of a copse, also with a dog.

Now, knowing the road and area very well there’s only one place you can park (without being on private land) to access where they were, and I saw an old white fiesta van that I knew had to be theirs.
Left turn, out of the car and I let down two tyres.
My OH was on the phone to the police at the time.
I was st scared in case they had a spotter nearby.

fking hate hare coursers.

They are a nasty bunch. Often use threats of and actual violence towards anyone who may come across them.
Be careful.

Good move. Pointless bloodsport, and it usually attracts a certain kind of individual.

Do they bring their own hare?

Think they are likely to be from a background where they cook and eat the hares / rabbits.

Most seem to go out ‘lamping’ at night.

Objecting to hare coursing is racist, apparently…

Well done for contacting the Police; hopefully they were caught and prosecuted.

Well done, hope they were caught.

Not known for caring too much about the welfare of their dogs either.

I saw them too, whilst driving my old white Fiesta van, I parked up and went and had a word with them, when I got back to my Fiesta two of my tyres had been let down.

Well done, you're braver than me. I've called the police on some before but never had the necessary for any covert vehicular sabotage.

Next door neighbour goes hare coursing. Sometimes poaches rabbits on land behind us and a few other locations. He's a gardener by trade and a decent enough bloke. Lives pretty much on the breadline, not like many on here I'd imagine.

Interesting to see decent used as a synonym of scumbag.
His financial situation hardly excuses it..
