Evening all,

We’re planning a trip to centre parcs over the Easter Holliday and taking the fuzzball with us. He had a pet passport (now useless) and is getting all his jabs (rabies etc) before we go by our vets.

I understand he has to visit a French vets to be given a worming tablet before coming back to the uk and this has to be signed off by the vet.

Does anyone have any experience of this please? I’d like to plan it in advance if I can especially because of the Easter holidays. So far the vets I’ve found locally to where we’re staying don’t seem to have websites or emails and it’s been some 25 years since my French GSCE.

Any advice / experiences would be welcome as this is our first trip away and I don’t fancy posting this home smile

Your ferry/train company should have a list of vets that can help you like this one.

Most of the Vets around the channel will be aware of regs and what's req. We've never had a problem making ourselves understood even with our imperfect French.

I tend to pop into a Vets and book an appointment for the return trip. I've a tel number somewhere for one we used to regularly use at Montreuil sur Mer.

The worming bit has to be done more than 24 hours before return trip, can't remember the maximum time, but we had to wait an extra few hours at the tunnel to get to 24 hours!
Booked a vet on the return route by email using google translate and found them very helpful.

We Googled a vet within a couple of days travel from Eurotunnel Calais and booked an appointment before we left the UK.

Very easy and although my spoken French is not good the vet and I muddled through on what was required.

The tapeworm treatment has to be administered 1 to 5 days before returning to the UK.

Make sure the French vet completes and stamps the bottom section on page 4 of the Animal Health Certificate:
