Can anyone identify these birds in my field? There’s a huge flock of them (50 to 100), but I can’t identify them and they look unusual.

The best description I can provide is that they look a bit like starlings or thrushes - that sort of size - but seems to have pointed wing tips, a pinkish breast and white markings on their backs/sides. Thin, pointed beaks that seem slightly long for the size of the bird.

Apologies for the terrible photo quality…taken holding a phone up to binoculars.

Go to Google and type in 'Members of the Thrush family', they'll probably be there. There are Fieldfares and others IIRC.

Thanks. Fieldfares look pretty likely so far…

Those seem to mostly be fieldfares although the chances are you'll see redwings around in the large mixed flocks too. Maybe even a few chunky mistle thrushes and song thrushes too.

The larger ones with grey parts will be Fieldfares. Any smaller ones that have chestnut/red patches on the body, under the wings will be Redwing. Google will help with i/d.
