- specifically the CN Convalescence one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015NXKECW

My vet recommended this to help my cat gain some weight, and to my surprise she actually liked it. However at £2.95 a tin I'm looking for alternatives. I can find it on Amazon for £1.99 a tin in a pack of 24, but I didn't want to buy that many in case she goes off it. Are there any other alternatives please?

As you say, most people seem to only sell in 24s. Found 6 tins slightly cheaper, but I think there's delivery costs on top:

No idea whether that shop is any good; never heard of them before.

Thanks for the info - with postage it works out £3.55 a tin.

I'll ask my vet if they can do me a deal...!

By the looks of the ingredients, something like tinned tuna or salmon would probably do a much cheaper, similar if not better job and would, I assume, be pretty palatable to your cat.

That's interesting.... but maybe a little too rich/intensive for a sustainable diet? I don't know...!

I'm a long way from an expert but guess you could mix the tuna or salmon up with regular wet cat food.

It's how we feed our dogs - half fill their bowls with normal dry food and then include some actual real food to make up the rest.

I could - but don't know if they are suitable for weight gain.
