Hi,

I took my two Dogs round to my Parent's house on Wednesday & it turns out their bh is in season & it has sent my one Dog mental. He wasn't too bad when he was with her, following her round a bit but nothing OTT so I kept an eye on them & then took him home.

Since then he has been howling, crying & restless. I expected it on the day but he's now not been anywhere near her for 2 days.

I can cope with the whining, although it's upsetting to see him so unhappy, but he's not eating either & there's not much of him in the first place so I'm getting worried.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do?
I'm considering taking him back to see the bh for a bit. I know it sounds mad but I hope he might eat while he's there (he's used to spending a lot of time there). I know he will be a nightmare when I get him back home but he can't get much worse to be honest.....any thoughts?

Also, is it likely to help or hinder if I got a blanket from my Parent's with her scent on??

Thanks,
Ben

I’d be inclined to continue to keep them apart . I don’t think loss of appetite is unusual and this behaviour should pass soon. I wouldn’t be introducing her scent on a towel and If you do decide to visit again I’d be very vigilant as matings can happen pretty quickly .

To be honest, half the point of the thread was to see what entertaining replied there might be!

I don't need to 'offer' him a leg at the moment, trust me. I'm scared to stand still!

He's still not eating much at all. We only live about 500 metres from my parent's so going to try taking him for a walk somewhere further away today & taking some food with us & see what happens.

It's a good job people don't act like this, never seen anything like it! I'm sure he'll be be on some sort of register before long!

Cheers,
Ben
