Chickens - Getting rid / Selling / Moving on
Discussion
Hi All -
having had a lovely first few years with our lovely dutch bantam chickens* - i've decided its time to let them go.
Is there a site for the trading of poultry?
Freecycle for Chickens?
Not enough meat on them for a sunday roast!

- this is a stretch - my daughter changed the bedding / collected the eggs and open the coup every morning for all of approx two weeks - after then it became my role trudgin to the end of the garden in wind/rain snow to open the fking cage.... anyhows back on topic -
Should be no problem re homing your chickens but you've left it too late as we are all on flockdown due to bird flu. There should be local animal rescue places near you who can help. I get all my rescue chickens from freshstartforhens , who specialise in re-homing commercial hens. If you join their group on Facebook I'm sure you will find someone local to you who will whisk them away .

There are lots of faceache groups who offer rehoming. All depends where you are in the world. Anywhere near eastern Scotland we can take them on...
bit far from Eastern Scotland! i just want shot of the chucks - would offer to school, but its crimbo & they're focussing on turkeys
Maybe consider getting an automated door for the coop?

We have spare coops they could live in.
You do realise these have functioning legs, Roderick?Plenty of space to take on a few more chooks - so long as there are no boys. We have had cockerels in the past, and fell out with the neighbours...!
