Looking at a mimsafe vario or a K9 crate to transport the hound in the car.

Any pHers using them? Any advice please?
Many thanks

Don’t know anything about the crates listed but we have used products from a company called ‘Hamster Baskets’.
Made to order and fit your car with openings wherever you want them!
Look them up on Google….really good quality, friendly service, and nothing too much trouble!
Ask my two pugs and a Frenchie…they love ‘em

We had a posh Swiss made crate that we got from roofbox.co.uk which worked ok, but then we moved to a dog guard and boot divider which was more flexible day to day and the dog had more space

I use the large RAC travel crate for long journeys for our black labrador, but for short ones she has the whole boot. I picked that as it folds up for easy storage

I've had a Hamster Basket crate before, and as said, it's very easy to get one to fit, as they can custom make to fit anything (mine was for a 407 SW).

I've now got a TransK9, and it's in a different league entirely. Not cheap, but excellent quality and service. Several friends have now ordered them after having seen it, and we regularly get people asking about it when they see it.

I have a friend with a Variosafe. Nice idea, but sounds like the proverbial skeleton/biscuit tin scenario on the move.

Myself and friends have used Trans K9 ones for years. Would fully recommend. I got one of the half boot ones which left room in the boot for any kit a day out would need.
They are expensive but very good. Can also potentially transfer between cars. I bought mine for my Octavia and moved it into the replacement A4.
When I sold the A4 for a hatch it wouldn’t fit in I sold the then 5 year old crate on for about 80% of the purchase price so overall only cost me about as much as a crappy fabric crate from Pets at Home
