We want to get a puppy soon (probably Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Maltipoo or Pomeranian). I can work from home 3 days a week, but on the 2 days a week I can't, my wife wants to take the puppy into work - she works in an Estate Agents office. Boss is fine with this.

From the Pup's perspective, is this O.k. and from what age can this start? Is it practical? What things to factor in?

Thanks all. smile

Other than poo and the recognition not all clients will like dogs...

I'd say the poo bit is nothing. My 16 week old pup has only ever had 1 poo indoors at 8 weeks. Now he squeaks to go do one.

Puddles take longer to stop...

Can always get him a play pen. Metal gates that set up in a big sqaure the dog can stay in and have room to play and not get in everyone's way. Unless it's a barker.. that could be nippy when on the phone.

Thanks - so the puppy won't get confused and disorientated being in two different environments (home and office) in their first few months?

I'm sure my wife & colleagues (they are all keen!) will cope with the occasional accident - but it's the welfare of the puppy that I'm concerned about primarily. smile

My working cocker started at 11 weeks.

He even went on a couple of customer visits.

Many customers adored him and would phone to check he was there before visiting.

This is him and his two mates at work

Getting a puppy out into the world at the earliest possible time, in a well managed way of course, is a great way of getting a happy well socialized dog.
