Pet passport is EU system only, so post Brexit closed to Brits. Did Boris not tell Brexit voters on the side of that bus?
Get you live animal health certificates every time....or buy a second home in EU where the friendly local vet may register your dogs and issue a passport. Mine are both French nationals.

Almost, but not quite.....Get you live animal health certificates every time....or buy a second home in EU where the friendly local vet may register your dogs and issue a passport. Mine are both French nationals.
There are countries outside the EU that are part of the scheme. My dogs are Andorran and fine to travel on their passports which are recognised by the EU, so there is presumably scope for the GB to join if someone thought it was a priority.
The full list of passports accepted by the GB is here - https://www.gov.uk/bring-pet-to-great-britain/list...
I also know of people whose dogs have acquired french passports without them owning homes there.
(I say GB rather than UK as I understand NI passports are still valid in the EU)
Remember that if you have an EU pet passport. A UK cannot certificate it. Ie you have to get the rabies injections done and certificated in the EU. I as a British (OV) vet cannot certificate an EU oet passport. So the poster above, your vet was correct to issue an AHC for your ‘Jackapoo’.
We have a sheep dog and until covid went abroad at least twice a year in our motorhome. He was on his 2nd passport because his 1st was fully stamped!
So instead of France, we spent this September in Ireland. Travelled Cairnryan to Belfast so didn't need an AHC and then visited a vet in Donegal who issued him with Irish passport. He also updated his rabies booster. Cost €100 in total. He can now travel around Europe without issue.
We could have got a passport issued in N Ireland which is allowed within the Brexit rules but as we were going into the Republic to do some of the Wild Atlantic Way, we left it until Donegal.
As previously said, when we get the next rabies booster, it will have to be done in Europe.
We could have obtained a passport on the next Spanish visit but France has stopped their vets doing it officially. They state that you have to provide a French resident address.
