My beautiful girl has bone cancer.
On Tuesday she will be leaving me forever. I am so heartbroken.
She’s nearly 9.
I will never have another dog. It’s the hardest thing saying goodbye.

I am so very sorry. It is the most horrible thing. I am thinking of you both.

Truly feel for you.

It's one of the most difficult things to go through, they give total love throughout their short lives.

My two are the last two I'll have, mine are luckily still young, but I already dread the day I'll have to say goodbye!!!

Thanks guys.
I’ve just found my daughter cuddling her in front of the fire.
This is breaking my heart.

So sorry for your heartbreak. At my advanced age I have loved and lost several dogs and it never ever gets any easier. Little sods get under your skin.
Cookie is ten and I dread the thought....
Don't make it about you. Dogs don't know they are mortal so as long as they know they are loved they are happy and that's what counts. You're going to hurt but (Providence willing) she won't.
There might be a little muttlet in your future who needs loving. I wasn't really ready for Cookie after Lucky Eddie died but I learned to adore her in about ten seconds.
You never know.
Again, so terribly sorry but it must be better that we suffer than they do.
As our dear late Queen said, pain is the price we pay for love.

I feel for you my friend, and wish you both peace.

It is crap when you lose a dog.

But what’s that saying, the best way to get over a dog is to get under another one.

Feel for you and i hope she had a good life with you..

Its the hardest part of love, saying goodbye, just remember it wouldn't be painful without the love youve both shared, grateful for pain that helps us remember them in years to come…

be strong with your goodbye x

The first dog we had to put to sleep was seven and a half and also with cancer.

We already had another dog so it wasn’t a choice of no more dogs.

We are on dog number eight now.

We have loved and lost. it is the nature of dog ownership

Good luck tomorrow

So sorry to hear that, it is part of the price we pay for having the little buggers in our lives.

Overall, the pain is worth it for the joy they bring us.

Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.
We do also have a Labradoodle. Going to have her for a good few years yet.
Not getting any more though. It really is too hard to say goodbye.

You are only letting the body go to be free from pain, her soul is with you always.

And in time I hope you get another, it is the last wish of all dogs that you share your home with another.

I feel for you, I really do, but give it a little time. I can't imagine life without a dog, and don't want to. It's better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all.

Please don't be too hasty in saying never.

If your other dog has been used to a companion it can really affect them being an only dog all of a sudden.

It's never easy saying 'goodbye' to a dog.

When my first dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I said to someone that we'd been very lucky to have such a great dog. The response that I received, was that my dog had been very lucky - being a member of a very loving family, of which he was a much-valued member for all of his life - and I'm sure this is the case with your dog.

The point is, very many dogs don't experience this and I greatly doubt that your dog could have had a better billet anywhere.

Good luck today.

I have cried my eyes out each time we have had to put one our pets to sleep.

Your doodle will likely be very confused
