How would you attack the problem of multiple thousands of maggots being spilled in a car boot and seeming to have crawled into every crevice?

Hundreds of flies around everytime the car is unattended.

Wow...

Fumigate the car and kill 'em all.

Or just leave it in an indoor garage with the doors and boot open, they'll soon migrate away. Then deep clean the insides after they're gone.

I'd take out the carpet and any panels just to make the flies exit easier? and/or hoover up some if it really was thousands!

Park with the rear windows ajar? You have the benefit that the weather is still reasonably warm and the flies should hatch quickly (few days) and they won't want to be trapped and so should largely solve the problem for you.

Plug a uv fly killer nearby and flog it as an art installation to a local gallery as “a visual commentary on the fleeting moment of life, drawing influence from the seminal art of Hirst’s 1000 years.”

After about a week they will all have hatched out (Rover SD1 and a pint of pinkies many years ago).

Wait for them to hatch and fly away every time you open the car in a week or so time.
Every angler has done it at some point.

Oh dear hehe

I was on the Norfolk Broads years ago with my kids. I bought two rods for the boys and a tub of maggots.

My daughter said that there was no way that I was keeping it in the boat so I left them in the sealed tub on the deck overnight.

Noises in the morning and a bunch of ducks had opened the tub and there were maggots all over the rear deck well, into the lounge and in the engine compartment.

My daughter was asleep and I told the boys to keep quiet as I scooped the things up with my hands and threw them in the river. The ducks were loving it.

They were even in the water filter by the engine.

An hour later and we were maggot free.

My daughter got up and then the screaming started.

One maggot crawling across the carpet smile
