A friend has these coming down her chimney.

You'd know if it's a cockchafer, if they're flying around the room it's like a bloody helicopter. They're massive.

Looks small - carpet beetle?

Very small, <5mm and quite a few of them have just appeared in the lounge.

Hard to tell for sure. Would be more obvious if could see it from above. But that looks a lot like a deathwatch beetle to me. If you live in an old wooden house then be very afraid….
