Cats and Coconut Oil

Our little old lady has lots of issues with furballs and possibly has some arthritis. A friend has suggested Coconut Oil, which has had a vey positive impact on her cats for both issues. We've tried her on it for a couple of days (she happily licks it from the jar....so far!) and I wondered if anyone else has used it and what their experiences and results are? initial response from her is positive!
