Looked through my Observers Book can't see it - spotted high up on Ben Nevis, very like a Pied Wagtail in movement but about half as big again and a white head. There were a couple of them, I was too busy watching them, forgot I had a camera with me!!

Thanks very much, like it but the description says "sparrow size" 160mm length and I felt these were a little longer/larger. One came within about 6 feet of me, totally unafraid (or maybe it was after my sandwich. Snow Buntings are on the "Amber List" with only a few breeding pairs resident apparently. Why didn't I take a photo!!!

Google Snow Bunting summer plumage. You do get them on Ben Nevis, apparantly one third of the breeding population nests there.

Thanks, apologies for the late reply, it certainly would seem that it was a Snow Bunting, actually two, a male and a female, just the way it walked it seemed more "wagtail". I consider myself privileged consider the low numbers in the UK, and still kicking myself for not getting a photo!
