Evening folks. I'm after a little advice about some white tailed bumblebees that have taken up residence in the cavity wall at the rear of my home. I thought I could hear buzzing in the landing the other day!

Anyhow, my main concern is will they do damage to the wall/cavity? Ideally I'd like to leave them "bee" as the entrance to their nest is only one brick below the guttering level so they're not causing issues at present.

Advice welcomed folks!

Doubt they'll do any damage at all and soon they'll be gone. My daughter has some in her brickwork and it's quite enjoyable watching them come and go. We did remove a few nearbye cobwebs.

Sounds like tree bumblebees
Harmless if undisturbed and shouldn't do any damage. Just block it up after summer when they're gone.

Excellent thanks all. I was hoping I didn't need to do anything other than block up the hole once they've departed later in the year.

Excuse my ignorance, where do they go in the autumn? I had always assumed bees hibernate.

Thanks

The buzzing is just them doing some air conditioning. Bumble bees have small nests, no damage. Let them be(e) smile
