Bleeding paw

Every few weeks my cat leaves a few spots of blood on the floor (or table or windowsill). She doesn't seem unduly bothered, and it dries up after a few minutes. But she never comes running in with her tail fluffed up (as from a conflict) and I don't hear any sounds of a fight. How is she damaging her paw?

Not sure; she doesn't like me fiddling with her paws! I'll ask the vet at the next check-up.
