Transylvanian hound - talk me in or out....

We have a hankering for a 2nd dog. Refuse to pay some bloke on Facebook £2k so it'll be from a rescue.
The bigger places shut us out as soon as we mention kids (8yr) and/or an existing dog (14yr) despite other good stuff like rural location, big garden, WFH etc.
We've found somewhere local that links with Romanian shelters and will at least give us the time of day.

Anyhow, I rather like the look of a Transylvanian hound. Proper sized dog with a bit of stamina, and the kennel club notes suggest good with kids and other dogs, loyal to family etc.
I want something that will play with the kids, come running with me, cope with a decent day hillwalking and enjoy a cuddle. I absolutely refuse to have a small yappy dog.

Anyone with experience on here? Talk me into or out of it?

Has it got fangs?

These foreign dogs are just fuelling the puppy need for over here and may be being bred to deliver. I could be wrong but doubt it.

Dogs trust delivered for me, a Romainian illegal import. presumably just to fill the void. They didn't have a border collie so offered me first dibs on the illegal.

I'd try to buy local as there are thousands of UK dogs in need of a home.

Reputable rescue centres will try to match their dogs to their new homes; you can't blame them for that. But there has to be something suitable within these shores.
