Such thing as a cat gate?

I'm looking at options to keep our cat(s) downstairs during the night as one of them is a constant pain all night in our bedroom, and will constantly scratch at the door if we dare shut her out.

Stupidly with hindsight, during renovation, we decided not to have a door from the hallway into the kitchen, which means it's pretty much open plan from downstairs to our bedroom door. So now I'm looking at options we could put in this doorway each night, so my first thought it similar to a dog-gate type thing, but for cats. Obviously it needs to be much taller and with narrower bars, so has anyone come across something like this?

We really don't want to look at a more permanent solution as the doorway wouldn't really suit a traditional door.

It will need to completely fill the hole or they'll keep trying to get over it.

If it's something you need to put in every night & remove every morning you will soon get fed up with it & fit a conventional door.

A plant spray trigger bottle works quite well as a harmless deterrent. Cat scratches door, you spray it. It will soon learn.

Thanks both, agree with all points there. "Best option" I've found is this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08PVKF81Q?tag=petsnat...

It's still probably not tall enough and as said above, putting it in and out every night will become such a pain.

I'll second this. We have a spray bottle in the lounge to discourage the cats from scratching at the new sofa. Only took a few goes before they stopped scratching. Now the bottle is just there for the odd occasion when they "forget", and then we only have to pick up the bottle and they scarper.
