As per the title our 18 month german shorthaired pointer is currently undergoing physio for what the vets seem to think is a iliopsoas strain tear. No one has conclusively diagnosed it despite a CT scan and an ultrasound at specialist vets, all we know is that the muscle is tender on palpation, he holds up his back leg and hops occasionally particularly when decelerating and generally tends to spend a lot of a walk plodding next to us which is definitely not normal young GSP behaviour. Im gutted as we specifically got him as we wanted a high energy dog.

Currently we are into our 9th week of lead only walking and he has had probably 8 ultrasound treatments. He's due to start hydrotherapy in the next few weeks and will probably be on lead until Jan 2022 or even later. We have been doing lots of "sits" with him, leg sways' leg lifts and some leg stretching but its hard as he's too powerful to make him do anything he doesn't want to. The physio recommended walking him over cavaletti poles but he just blunders through them. so we've given up on them

Id be really interested to hear of anyone else's experience of rehabing this injury and what they believed really helped as we are desperate to have him back to 100%

Thank you
