Advice for an elderly owner of dogs
Discussion
I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this question.
I have an elderly friend who has 2 small dogs. She's late 70's, tending to frailty and currently suffering from back pain. Hopefully the back pain is temporary, but I'm concerned that this is a long term issue.
The dogs are Lhasa Apso and need eye boogers removed daily.
She's struggling to lift them to table height to clean their eyes, nor can she really bend down to deal with things at floor level.
Two questions:
1 - is there some sort of mechanical lift that would enable her to lift the dogs to a workable height?
2 - in the longer term, is there a better way to deal with the eye boogers than daily bathing?

Need? Do eye boogers as you dub them really need shifting, or is it just anthropomorphic tosh? The old man goes through phases of wiping them off the doge reflexively then not doing anything about them for weeks. Unless leaving them alone induces pink eye it seems like an affectation.

Eye boogers is maybe not the best term. The matter is very dark, almost black. The dogs have a tendency to roll on the grass and the matter can be quite gritty. Lumps of this matter are removed daily, almost match head sized.Gassing Station | All Creatures Great & Small | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
