Simple one- are pet fleas getting immune to flea treatments. Last year, I bought spot on for my dog. it did eventually stop the problem ,along with secondary surface treatment. This year I use the left over, and it seems to have had no effect. Lexi has fleas, although we use a flea shampoo. Groomer has used flea shampoo on her this time, and I've now added another frontline treatment. Problem is that Lexi is a part Jack, so any rustling in bushes get attention. Assuming fleas are getting immune, is there a treatment that still gets to rot of problem ?

As far as I know, spot on treatments 'go off' if you don't use them immediately.

I've been using tablets for a few years now. Seems to work as I've had no issues at all.

The cheaper one is called 'Prazimec D or C', (D or C depending on if it's for a dog or cat).

The much more expensive one is called 'Bravecto'.

Both will do worms, parasites, fleas, ticks, etc. Dosage lasts for about 3 months, which is nice.

We use Bravecto, and not seen a single flea in over two years.

Fleas love me, so I'm the bellweather for whether or not our pets have them. smile

Also note, spot on treatments only treat the fleas on the pet, any eggs or larvae in the carpets/furniture can still hatch and attach to you or the pet......and then die if spot on used is still effective.
