One of our cats has developed what appears to be known as cat acne on her lower chin.
Has anyone else encountered this? And what was the solution?
I'm guessing a visit to the vet and a prescription of some magic cream with a matching price tag is probably going to be the outcome unless anyone has any old fashioned remedies?

I had a Maine Coon show cat who had acne when young. We were advised to only use metal or ceramic feeding bowls not plastic. You can also buy Hibiscrub from most pharmacies, it is not expensive, mix some in water & apply to the acne area with a cotton bud. Hibiscrub is safe for animals (& humans) & doesn't sting when used on cuts so is useful to have around.
My cat has had this pretty much her whole life (she was 1 when I got her and is now approaching 10)
ceramic bowls made an initial improvement and the vets gave me some 'pet wipes' (like baby wipes but for pets) they seem to have made a bit of a difference but not cleared it up.
To be honest, it doesn't affect her and she quite likes me scratching her chin picking it out
