One of my lunatics has, I think, been struggling getting rid of hairballs recently. Too many times having a meal then 10 minutes later throwing it back up. On the occasions I’ve had a look through it there hasn’t so much been a hairball as a finger-sized lump of matted hair, so I presume he’s struggling to pass it out of the other end.

I’ve started giving him a good daily brush again and I get loads of hair out of him, so I hope that will help, but is there a good food additive I can give him? Unfortunately he’s a fussy sod so he’ll only eat Felix and Dreamies by the handful. I’m hopeful there’s something I can add to his food that he won’t know is there.

A couple a month is reasonably common.

Though IMO, the problem starts with the food. Felix and dreamies are full of crap, and are like crack to cats. They are only 4% meat and don't enable them to digest things properly.

I would force a better diet on him - a higher meat content wet and a grain free dry: Edgar Cooper for instance.

There will be much less hairballs, and much less smelly piss and food desperation.

I had considered changing his diet. In the past I’ve tried moving him onto something more ‘natural’ but, I’ll be honest, his stubbornness and subsequent loss of weight outlasted my patience to do something for his benefit. Honestly, his weight just about halved, little prick.

I’ll have a look at this Edgard & Cooper mob thumbup

But was he overweight to begin with?

No, he’s always been lean. Then he went too far to skinny.
