After 3/4 days it’s like this, we use a water conditioner.

4 little cold water fish

Decent pump and filter cleaned

At my wits end

Take a sample of the water to a good aquarium shop, who should test it for you and advise what to do?

How long has the tank been set up?

How frequently are you doing a routine partial water change?

What sort of filter & what filter medium?

Are you rinsing the filter medium in the old tank water or under the tap?

No doubt others will be along with a lot more questions.

There is a thread dedicated for thread further down however how long has the tank been set up you mentioned 3 or 4 days that's not nearly long enough to get the tank cycled correctly. You really shouldn't be putting fish in without doing so. It will clear but you be needing to do frequant water changes.

It’s 7 weeks old, we put 2 in after 2 weeks and 2 more after 4 weeks.

New Eheim pump for 45litres as old new pump looked crap

The algae is on the inside of the tank

Water conditioner

We wash the ornaments under a tap & dry

What are we doing ?

I’m no expert, but had similar and asked my shop, and could be algae bloom? Solved by reducing light for a few days and substantial water change.

Just a guess though.

Have you got a API testing kit if not get one and check your parameters ammonia nitrate and nitrites. If they are all good just leave the tank itself alone but do 20-30% water changes once a week or twice a week. Could add beneficial bacteria and reduce lighting on the tank.

My new tank went cloudy after 2 days from first set up and didn't clear up for over a week it eventually cleared up now but still no fish in yet. My 250liter tank cleared pretty quickly but that runs a fx5 canister filter.
But yea first thing test you parameters then do one step at a time.
