Hi, I found this on my patio yesterday morning and Initially assumed it was a rat’s rear end. After closer inspection I am not so sure any suggestions?

Isn't the tail too furry for a rat?
Young grey squirrel maybe

That could be (the remains of) a flying squirrel. Does it turn pink under UV light?

I would’ve thought the tale will be more fury and the feet would be longer if it was a grey squirrel.

Young squirrel, the post should have a NSFW warning imo as I was eating meat at the time.

I don't see how it would have escaped, it wouldn't be able to see where it's going for a start.

It's definitely a baby squirrel, took a pic of this one which was dying due to a goose attack.
