I only seem to come in this forum when I get problems with my little man.
He started snubbing food last week, blood stools seemed dark in colour but solid, he was occasionally throwing up, but he's been known to do this in the last. Then Thursday he was sick a lot more so took him in.
Blood sample test seemed came back normal Friday, so he was booked in for a scan today. Yesterday his poo got to really running blood colour with bits in it. However he was eating voluntarily.
He's had pancreatitis about 4 years ago but seemed more active now then then.
He had the scan and no issues visibly seen, so it was suspected ulcers at lunchtime today, but that got changed as they've done the camera down him and ulcers seem too small for the size to produce as much blood as he's excreting, also his blood level reading dropped below normal so they fear its potentially down to a blood issue and it not clotting https://www.vetstream.com/treat/canis/diseases/imm...
He is 10 and we are in bits fearing the worse, he's in over night so stable and im just praying he gets through.
I fear the worse ongoing and I am holding strong for my missus but I feel numb.
Keep strong Gonz, I know you can do it boy.

Well he's still here....
Im rather disappointed with the Vets, the saga of the scan on Monday all clear, reckoning it was stomach ulcers creating the blood, then said they needed to put a camera down to have a look...
We got the call after the scan and the ulcers seen were far too small for blood to be in the stool. So on the phone Monday he was given this original diagnosis based on blood count being low.
At 4pm they've had him in all day and of course want him in all night with blood tests not coming in.
A sleepless night Monday and into Tuesday by 4pm only half the blood tests had arrived.
Onto final tests and they diagnose it as pancreatitis again or possible stomach bug picked up, which might be the case as we went to the beach Sunday last week (yes we are local to one)
Im not convinced they know what the issue is but want him in for more blood tests Friday which I'm not entirely sure is worthy as his poo is turning back to normal and he's eating now.
I really don't know how people on low incomes deal with vet bills.

RIP my g boy.
He just got progressively worse again over the last week and it was determined with a scan as an aggressive tumour growth in the stomach causing a blockage, it just didn't seem fair to operate for the slim chance it wouldn't come back, along with how much weight he'd lost.
I love you gonzo, we'll meet again one day for a walk and some ball time.

Now's the time to find a great photo of him, and share it.He just got progressively worse again over the last week and it was determined with a scan as an aggressive tumour growth in the stomach causing a blockage, it just didn't seem fair to operate for the slim chance it wouldn't come back, along with how much weight he'd lost.

RIP. Whenever you think of him, make sure you smile and remember the good, no, the absolute best times. He'll never really leave you.
