I am tempted to buy a cheap but decent quality micro action cam or GoPro type thing and a harness to get some cat parkour footage.

I wouldn't attempt it with Oscar, my older cat, but the youngster, Teddy, would probably love it. No fear in him.

That is quite cool.

What intrigues me most is that you never really know where your cat goes or what it gets up to. I couldn't even tell you where they st tbh. Probably in a non-cat owners garden lol.

I wouldn't want to lose hundreds of £ worth of kit so maybe I'll order something cheap form eBay or Wish.

If anyone has any recommendations please post.

my pal put a tracker on his and could then view the 'where'd he go aspect.

Cheaper and fitted on the collar IIRC.
He will have nerded one with a raspberry pi or 3d printed one knowing him - but you can buy : https://www.pettracer.co.uk/

There's was a BBC program about that a few years ago and they put trackers on a load of cats. IIRC they didn't go far - mostly just into surrounding gardens.

I remember watching that, it was a small sleepy village with ~ 8 or 9 cats iirc, they managed to organize their boundaries and territory patrol so as to not come into conflict most of the time and strayed much shorter distances that predicted.

[quote]Over the past few months I have spent much of my free time trying to enter the mindset of dogs to understand their walking patterns. Plotmypaws is an ambitious, evolving project in tracking and visualisation dog movement in my local village. This blog has been updated to include both Phase 1 and the much evolved Phase 2. I hope you enjoy…
