Has anyone got a thermal camera/imager ?

Watching Winterwatch last week I was intrigued by the idea of watching wildlife with a thermal camera.

It looks like an expensive bit of kit so would be keen to hear of your experiences and recommendations.

A guy in the local Owl conservation group has one. Brilliant thing, you can count the number of chicks inside an owl box from the ground! There’s no real detail though, so not a lot use for “watching”. For “spotting” they’re really good.

When I have some time, I want an ATN Thor scope for my fox rifle....

I have one, but use it on my circuit boards to spot things overheating.

Although recently I have used it on radiators (to find out if they need bleeding), and also the outside of my house to look for thermal leaks.

Not a lot of wildlife in the middle of town to spy on, though...
