Which breeds, how many, how much space, how ruined is your garden hehe? I have many questions that the internet has not provided a satisfactory answer to so far.

I've been thinking about getting some for a while. Primarily as pets, I wouldn't be relying on them for eggs/meat/profit. Khaki Campbells or Indian runners are the favourites so far. I'd probably get 3, preferably all females.

The main question I have is how much space do they need before it's NOT turned into a bog? I accept that they are messy but I only ever see small enclosures with 12+ ducks in a quagmire. I'm thinking more of a small enclosure but free range most days in the garden. 15m x 10m mainly lawn and I'd be looking to add a small pond for them, if I can keep the dog out of it.

None.
They need too much space.
They ruin your garden.
The foxes round here would finish them off before the paint had dried!

Unfortunately, Ms Moneypenny thinks otherwise and I’m under pressure to deliver. I’m using the fox threat as my main stalling mechanism and its holding out (just) as (un) fortunately nearest neighbour tried chickens in her garden and they were all gone within a week despite valiant attempts at a fox-proof set up.

Good luck!
