One of our dogs - a West Highland Terrier - has a bit of a skin problem. She is on lots of vets advice foods etc but is on a course of steroids at the moment. She has been sent to a different vet and has been placed on a double amount of steroids for 2 weeks.

Today my wife fed her a double dose then went to work without telling us. Later on - half an hour to 1 hour later - my daughter gave her 2 tablets.

She slept most of the morning.

She seems fine, is there any chance of anything bad happening?

I would contact the vets just to be sure,

I also have a westie, have you tried coconut oil on their skin, and a company called Stinky Stuff also do products that are meant to help.

Was waiting on the call - finally spoke to them!

They said it was fine, she may be a little sleepy (she was) but they think she will survive!

Re the oil - tried that, tried EVERYTHING but nothing seems to work other than the expensive food we are on at the moment! She is nearly 4 years old and has had skin problems since she turned 2, we know all of the prospective solutions!

Agreed with the no problem with double dose steroid.
Ask about Apoquel for the skin.
