We have two cats which usually weigh 3.5kg each. While this seems light they are relatively small and are in great health. Anyway, a short while ago one of them had to have steroids for about six weeks. During that time her weight crept up to 4.5kg. After stopping the steroids it has continued to creep up and is now 5.1kg. We're taking them for their annual boosters next week, so we're going to ask the vet but, in the meantime, does anyone have experience of this and know if anything can be done to reverse the weight gain?

Do they get out at all? Nothing to say that the cat hasn't found some soft sod that "feeds" it two or three streets away!?

One of them is always out, but that's the one that's stayed at 3.5kg. The one that's gone up to 5.1 never goes out!

Maybe that's the problem, it's a lazy sod and won't burn the weight back off.

She's very playful, so I don't think that's the problem... unlike the outdoor cat that looks at you like you're stupid if you try to play with it!
