Dashchund Cross Springer
Discussion
They sound ACE.
I wouldn’t take too much notice of what people tell you, I asked about getting a Beagle/Collie cross over 5 years ago and was advised against it as his recall would be terrible. As it turned out his recall is Ok I just wish I could stop him eating rabbits and squirrels, he made my mate puke yesterday.

I have a miniature long-haired Dachshund, and she’s awesome. Keeps up with my whippet and Italian greyhound. I never would have chosen the breed (my youngest daughter had her heart set on one), but I’m very glad I was talked into it.
You do have to be careful not to tread on the silly things though.
I reckon a Dachshund Spaniel cross will be great fun, legless and loopy.

Interesting cross! Why is the immediate question- assume an accident.
Would it be called a dinger, or even a minger to apply a 'designer dog' tag to a crossbreed.
As said - imagine the worst of both breeds in one . Sorry I can't help much with this. It will be difficult at 8 weeks to see even what they will look like.

Anyone else have a daschund cross springer?
My Mrs has seen pups local to us not ready just yet but she has her heart set on...
What they like to live with and what do they look like cant find a lot online mainly crossed with cocker spaniels not springers.
I think that's a sweet mix, could be really lovely dogs!My Mrs has seen pups local to us not ready just yet but she has her heart set on...

The one thing I'd be wary of would be the prevalence of hip and elbow dysplasia in Spaniels and the prevalence of IVDD Daxies and Luxating Patella in both
Unless the breeder has done health testing (highly unlikely) you won't know
If you go ahead, my suggestion would be that you familiarise yourself with those conditions so you can spot the early signs.
Get good insurance and do not neuter early (because there evidence now, which is an ever growing interest of research, that early spay and castration has serious implications for joint related conditions).

I have 2 Dachshunds, a Spaniel cross and a Terrier cross, but I know loads of them who live with whippets/lurchers or greyhounds. They make great partnerships!
