Strange little bird
Discussion
The Mrs was sat in the garden earlier and shouted me outside. There was a little bird sat next to her. It then proceeded to follow us both around the garden stopping occasionally to give us a lovely little song and have a snack of breadcrumbs.
Very tame sat literally 6 inches from us. I’ve lived here for 26 years and never seen anything like it !
Sorry about the poor quality pic snapped on iPad... Anyone identify it ?

Why are Robins relatively tame or at least less shy or wary than other birds?
This might help explain why?https://www.birdspot.co.uk/bird-brain/why-are-robi...
Many years ago, my mum trained a robin to eat out of her hand.
I didn't believe her at first, but sure enough, when I stayed over for the weekend, my mum went out with a handful of scraps and the robin flew straight to her hand.
I had a go and the same thing happened, there's a picture, in a family album, of me with a robin feeding in my hand.
I remember how little it weighed in my hand, it felt like no more than a sweet wrapper!

I dont care :-) If the happy little chappy wants to be around us and is happy to sit on my chair arm then I'm pleased to have him. All the sparrows do is crap on me as they fly over !moorx said:

Oi Narcisus. PH told you to get me mealworms. Now...I don't see no mealworms. That's a nice car you have...be a shame if any birds pooped on it. Tomorrow yeah. Yeah.
I shouldn't give him chocolate cake - chocolate is toxic to birds.

I've given our birds the odd left over bit of cake crumbled up, but only plain or fruit and nut cakes. Our baby robins loved mealworms, and they now also eat the suet pellets I mix in.

As others have said, don't feed him chocolate cake.
