I have a nine-week-old lab pup who is currently enjoying a scamper around my garden. The problem is that I have a huge conker tree in the middle of it which is starting to shed leaves and conkers. I know both the conkers and leaves contain a toxin harmful to dogs but how worried should I be? Labs are like furry vacuum cleaners and pretty much anything and everything goes in her mouth. I’ve caught her a few times chewing on a conker but exactly how toxic are they? Does she need to ingest several or would half of one by fatal?

I’d appreciate some guidance or advice on this. I’m exhausted raking the lawn several times daily!

I would say don't let her eat any.

Toxicity especially for a puppy is definitely possible (can't really say if one amount is safe or not esp as if chewing small amounts daily could cause a build up of Toxicity) but also intestinal blockage is a high risk.

Not an answer that is going to make life easy for you re the falling conkers but it really is the safest one!
