Female Maltipoo adopted 5 years old, we've had her 18 Months. Super friendly no other problems, obligatory picture to follow.
This dog is a pain in the butt to feed, all tips and tricks welcome.
We have just tried to introduce some rather expensive mail order food, we did a gradual introduction. Sniffs it from 3 inches and gives me a WTF look.
I've tried adding "irresistible" small bits on top (roast pork or chicken) which she carefully removes and eats.
Yesterday I was eating a fruit torta and a strawberry fell off onto the floor.....she ate it!

This indicates she wants only what we eat.
I've had suggestions of adding a small amount of Brewers yeast or anchovy oil, I haven't tried either yet.

Just put down what you want her to eat. Eventually she will....

I think it's the dog equivalent of PH's "Dominating the stairs"

Yes, trying feeding twice a day perhaps at breakfast and teatime.

Put the bowl down and leave it for 15 minutes.

If it shows no interest, pick it up and then put it down again at the next feeding time.

Assuming you are not feeding it treats and/or human food in between?

Was the expensive mail order food 'Tails'?

If so try 'Butternut Box' - also mail order and expensive but my dogs can't get enough of it and have absolutely thrived since we put them on it, even lost weight but in a good way

No, it's "Farmers Dog", I'm in the States.
I've noted the above advice, I'll toss the first food pack and open a new one and start again.
She is not the smartest dog I've ever owned, I really should be able to con her into eating it.

Sounds like she is training you up nicely.

She will eat eventually. We had the same with our pup.

Kept turning nose up at food, and eventually after a day started eating. Even now he sometimes will turn his nose up and then eat it later that day.

Ours wont eat first thing in the morning, but will eat at lunch and dinner time.

No one can be better trained than myself. I feed my dog from a fork!

In my own defence, I have two mutts, one of which is a slow grazer who likes to nibble her kibble during the day and the other eats everything in sight within seconds. When they started having wet food I started feeding Phoebe from a fork to encourage her... now she won't eat unless I do and Chester gets fatter and fatter.

Just fed them cooked chicken breasts, from a fork. I need help!
