Cat - tick, or something else?

Just found this on our cat, close to an armpit. . Whiteish, about the size of a grain of rice.

My first thought was a tick, but there's no sign of any head or legs, and attempting to remove it using a tick twister did nothing except make the cat grumpy!

Any idea what else it might be? If it's a tick I'd expect it to get larger as it eats, and then drop off...

it's a tick,
you cant see the head because it's embedded in your pussy (sorry it had to be done). If you cannot get it with tick tweezers get some surgical spirit, TCP or similar, well soak cotton wool with it and hold it on the tick for some time, It should hopefully loosen it's hold.

They are disgusting things but shouldn't cause your cat any harm.

Looks a bit too pale for a tick to me. They are usually grey or brown. That looks skin coloured.

I just did a quick Google search under cat ticks and it came up with this. Looks pretty similar your yours.
