Can you get padded ones so the loop around the muzzle doesn't rub? Or does anyone recommend a softer/thicker slip rope lead? Current rope lead is rubbing a bit on our Lab.

We use one of these.... they're made from wool and have a bit of natural spring in it..... we use this method on our big Goldendoodle and it keeps her trotting along rather than steaming along!

I'm at a loss of why it's rubbing and on what. . . . the lead should hang in a J shape when the dog walks at heel. Are you saying your dog pulls against you when walking?

One does pull a bit, and it rubs her nose with the current lead which is just a cheap 5mm nylon slip rope, hence looking for a different type of lead. The Twool ones look good but look short, need a 2m one

They're around 1.2m in length

Funnily enough I was having a side conversation about these with a supplier of mine just yesterday, as I'm looking for one for my Lab. She recommended one from eBay that she uses - she wanted something soft both for her dog and due to sensitive skin on her hands. The brown one is the natural cotton one.

I assume the OP is using the lead like this:

OP, why not just get a proper face collar like a Halti or Gentle Leader?

tried them, don't work. The 8 lead does, just the current lead rubs the bridge of her nose, hopefully a thicker/softer rope will stop that.

Could I ask why you wanted a head restraint lead rather than a collar & lead?

So are you a puppy raiser, or are you just following this for your own dog?

Because I *was* going to answer your original question but wanted to know a bit more first.

What's the problem you're trying to cure? For pulling, I have never known a dog not respond to a proper face collar (and that's several dogs).
