My Staffy approx 6 years old (rescue dog) has over the last 7 days peed and pooped in the house. He has never done this in the 4 years we have had him and has been perfect with his toilet routines until the last week. We can leave him all day whilst at work and nothing but the last week even if we just leave him alone for 30 minutes then he will do something.

He also seems to have an issue with goo in his eye and his stomach area has turned black.(as in not his normal colour but not infected) could this be related? Possibly a seasonal allergy.

Ill be calling the vet tomorrow.

Has anybody got any ideas? Is it possibly medical? or could it be that my Wife has been working from home since lockdown so he has got use to someone being at home all the time?

Hmm stomach colour should be unrelated unless it is deep bruising.....which means a massive challenge if so but would have the signs of a desperate dog too. Assuming waterworks are the main sign, then could be a few things, as long as not obviously unwell, then give a 500mg paracetamol and use normal routine until tomorrow when vet-visit is suitable. Take a urine sample with you. If you think something more serious is going on then call out of hours vet.

Thanks for the reply, He don't seem unwell, eats like normal, walks normal and behaves normal its just the change in his behaviour by peeing in the house when we are not here.

His eye goo and stomach colour are something we have recently noticed. Ill call the vets tomorrow. It is an emergency vet but when I called the message said if not an emergency then call during normal open hours.

He has not been alone longer then perhaps an hour or two during lockdown but before lockdown he would be alone for 6 hours a day with no problems at all.

Have you asked a Chiropractor in case it is something simple like a small misalignment.
