I think I know the answer to this but could do with a sanity check
My Shiba Yoshi is a rescue from dogs trust (last June) , his background is an ex show dog & stud (we found this out when someone recognised his markings in FB group as their pups father and when I read his chip details over vets shoulder) so we know a lot about him now.
On aforementioned FB group there’s a lady showing her new pup (actually there’s a lot of posts like that as you can imagine) however she has paid big bucks in January for a pedigree dog (one of a litter of 5) with faultless bloodlines all of which is fine,
But
The sire on her paperwork she is showing online is Yoshi, in September last year, when he’s been with me since early June and had his knackers removed in late May
Shiba gestation is about sixty days so it’s either fraud or there’s a turkey baster of his special sauce in a fridge somewhere ?
Police or KC first, I don’t want to be the one telling the poor woman on FB

Over to the floor please

I don't understand Facebook, but are there any moderators/people in charge of this group?

I'm not sure the police would be interested. KC might be. Trading Standards? Do you actually have your dog's pedigree papers?

It was one of the moderators that alerted me, it’s a group ran by the UK owners club, yes we have all his paperwork

If that's the case, I think that (with your permission) it should be them who informs the other party of their suspicions. The other party can then (again with your permission) contact you for further information and take it up with the breeder if they wish.

Is there anything wrong with a previous owner acquiring a baster with the “goods” inside?

No, as long as that's what happened and the breeder who is claiming this parentage can prove it.

It may have been frozen and AI.

But the breeder will have had to disclose that to the KC if that is the case.

This is the equivalent of going down Tesco's and somebody steal stuff.

They will do it. It annoys me when I see it but then

Life is too short.

Just go out and walk your dog and be happy biggrin

Apologies for the lack of response to some helpful answers, been busy with the whole potentially loosing job inconvenience this week, as it transpires someone from the UK owners club has already raised with KC and they are investigating, I’ve had to provide them with proof of the date we got him and evidence of his castration.
I’m just hopeful that this gets sorted as it’s not fair on the people paying nearly £4K without a perfect clear history.

Thanks again guys
