I saved a magpies life today. I'd like to think that reverses any bad luck imparted by single magpies - what's the general consensus?

Use to have a Magpie as a pet, she lived for 21 years, got up to all sorts of mischief, was very friendly and she had her cage in the dining area, though use to end up where ever she wanted (couldn't fly), and happily hopped around the house.
